Description
Villa Boscarello is a delightful property located in the heart of the Crete Senesi, the south area of Siena. This area is characterized by its rich clay earth, the famous terra di Siena, and its almost other-worldly landscapes. The charming village of Trequanda lies just 4 kms away and Siena itself is just a short drive away. The original structure is a typical rustic style house dating back to the 17th century, with terra cotta floors, exposed clay brick walls, wooden beams and original frescoes. The present owner is a descendant of the famous Socini and Ricci families, who were bankers, notaries and theologians in Siena since the 14th century. Together with his lovely wife, he undertook between 1995 and 2000 a massive restoration of the property, that is part of an extensive estate producing organic extra virgin oil and wine, one of the best and most appreciated in the world. A picturesque avenue of cypresses leads to a beautiful forecourt in Siena brick. The house is furnished with antique family furniture and fine design details. There is a large panoramic terrace on the upper floor offering an unforgettable view of the nearby village of Trequanda. The complex is composed of two buildings: the main house and the annex. The main house there is made of two floors: on the ground floor there is a spacious handicap-accessible double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a charming fresco and entrance foyer that takes you into a large living room with a beautiful stone fireplace, a dining room, a very modern professionally-equipped kitchen and a spacious veranda with traditional wood-burning oven and barbecue. The sunset view from this terrace, stretching beyond the pool, is simply magnificent. There is also a very large "party" room with an open fireplace that can be used for roasts. The Villa wine cellar which can be set up for wine-tastings. On the upper floor there are seven double bedrooms with orthopedic mattresses, en suite baths with shower or Jacuzzi tub, mini-bar, telephone and a splendid view. All but one can be made up as twins upon request. In the annex there are two double bedrooms with en suite baths furnished with Jacuzzi tubs, a charming living room and full kitchen with a washing machine. The annex has its own panoramic outdoor dining area and barbecue. In the outdoor there are various areas to lounge or enjoy al fresco dinners, a fabulous old stone oven to be used for making great pizzas and a lovely free-form swimming pool which includes a hydro-massage area. Rentals run from Saturday to Saturday. A security deposit of 1200 Euro is due upon arrival directly to the owner, refundable against damages. The rental price includes garden, pool maintenance, concierge service and maid service twice a week, change of linen once a week, change of bath towels twice a week. Additional maid service is available and payable locally on an hourly basis (15 Euro). Air conditioning payable on consumption (7 Euro per hour). Two extra beds are available at the cost of 40 Euro per night. Pets are not allowed. The owner's daughter is an excellent cook and is available for cooking typical Tuscan dinners and cooking classes. Villa Boscarello is open all year round. The annex cannot be rent separately from the Villa.
