A hidden gem in the heart of Florence close to the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio in Florence's famous Piazza della Signoria and Dante Alghieri's house. It takes its name from the medieval square where it is located. This Romanesque square and S. Martino del Vescovo church was where, in the Middle Age, workers cut the matted ends (the Cime) off the fleeces. This area was also territory of the wool guild. Today you can still admire the beautiful frescoes by Antonio del Chierico in the San Martino church. The B&B is on the 2nd floor of an historic building (no lift). All the rooms have private bathrooms with shower and hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, soundproof windows, safety deposit boxes, telephone and internet connection. hey are tastefully furnished and the original wooden ceilings give a charming touch.
